I'm $40 more fabulous today thanks to Kansas. I won our office NCAA bracket pool. I'm so excited! It's the first year I have ever participated in one.

This wins for most creaky, icky story of the week. My mom has been having problems with her ear for the past couple months. She has been experiencing some minor pain and irritation in her left ear that has felt like trapped water or a foreign object. After a sleepless night a few days ago she finally broke down and went to the doctor. While she was there the doctor was asking a host of medical questions that seemed out of place for an ear check-up. Among them were:
Done you have acid reflux?
Do you sleep on your left side?
Etc…
Turns out that when she goes to bed at night, her acid reflex acts up, travels up her esophagus into her sinuses and gets trapped in her ear. My mom has STOMACH ACID IN HER EAR!!! How gross is that? Poor thing. Thankfully the doctor has helped drain it and given her ways to prevent it from happening again. Ewwwww!

I'm so excited! We just had an earth quake. This was my first earth quake experience. Last time there was one in Idaho I was in the 5th grade out on the play ground and didn't feel a thing. This morning I was sitting at my desk and started feeling dizzy. I thought I was getting sick but then I noticed my chair was shaking and my door was swinging. I jumped up to see if my coworker, Kody, felt it and his door was swinging as well. Shortly after my boss came in and said it was all over the radio.
Hmmmm, meteor, lunar eclipse, and now an earth quake all in one week. Is this the end?

Last night was one thing, Thursday night, which means there is nothing on TV worth watching. I usually read to fill the time before bed but last night I decided to watch Hannah Montana to see what all the fuss is about. It was actually pretty cute. It tickled my achey-breaky heart. Would I spend hundreds of dollars to attend her concert? Heck no! Will I ever watch HM again? Maybe, but I'll never admit to it.

Are you kidding me? Celine Dion wine. What will they think of next? Where the hell is my Queen wine?

Yeay, I'm so excited! I got Terry a new Thomas Kinkade painting for Christmas. It is a limited edition numbered print with only 75 issued. It is actually signed Robert Gerrard which is a psydo-name he used while living in Europe but he sold so little that he returned to his real name. That in it's self, I find very cool and unique. When I purchased it I got in on a special promotion that shipped the print to California to get his original signature. Sweet!

I prefer his impressionistic style paintings. I'm not a fan of cozy cottages. Errrrr

Looks like all I'm getting for Christmas is a fat cat. What could be better than Bijou?

I was almost KOed by a corn chip today at lunch. While eating chips and salsa, I jammed a chunk of chip in between the back of my tooth and gums. Thankfully I was able to walk right into my dentist (who's office is conveniently right around the corner from my office) and get the chip removed. I had to have anti-microbial shots in my gums. OUCH! They didn't charge me which was so super duper nice of them. Now my mouth and head feel really bad but I suppose that's better than having food stuck where it doesn't belong. Ugh!

I’m so embarrassed at my lack of blogging. I should be ashamed. There is so much I have missed that I don’t even know where to begin. I guess I’ll start off by noting that we had our first snow fall of the year this morning. It was pretty but I doubt it will last long once the sun comes up.
Random thought #1: I just returned from a business conference in Coeur d’ Alene. While I was there I had the opportunity to meet up with my brother-in-law, Mike, and his wife Kathy. This was the first time meeting Kathy. It’s sad that it’s taken over 10 years for us to hook-up. It was such an enjoyable evening of dinner, wine, and conversation. I got to hear a bunch of stories of Terry as a child. Too fun!
#2: Over the past year our office had grown by leaps and bounds. Yes, this is a good thing however it also means that I am now sharing my office. This does not make me happy. I have the smallest office in the building at just over 10 x 10. Luckily my “cell mate” seems to be a pretty nice guy but I am hoping the arrangement is only temporary. The bright side of the situation is that with this new hire I am able to dump half my work load. It’s going to be nice being able to actually concentrate and spend the appropriate time needed to get things done.
#3: I walked past a Christmas tree last week and the smell of pine got my holiday juices going. I’m really looking forward to Christmas this year. Joe and Verena will be coming home from Germany for two weeks so that will make things extra special. I also have two weeks off work. NICE!
#4: We’re taking the whole family to see Transiberian Orchestra next week. This will be our 4th year in a row seeing them. No one else in my family has had the experience. I am looking forward to their reactions. It will be an interesting evening because Thayne made the Eagle Basketball team and his 1st game is that day. It should be over in time for the concert but it might be a bit rushed. I hope not too bad.
#5: The two movies I want to see this season is Enchanted and PS I Love You. I plan on buying the Hairspray DVD today. Yeay, I love that movie!
#6: I’m addicted to Wii. It’s sad really. It’s a good thing I don’t own one. I can only play on Thayne’s when I’m out in Star. I currently have Wii arm (similar to tennis elbow) and can hardly move. I get soooooo competitive it’s scary. I hate to lose and will continue to play until I win. That’s why I didn’t play organized sports. I’m a killer.
#7: We’re having another great Bronco Football season. The last game is this Friday against Hawaii. I’m so nervous. I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to watch. It was a strange season due to weather. I only had to wear a coat for one of the games this year. There was no nasty weather which is quite unusual. I suppose I shouldn’t complain. I’m just used to sitting through rain, snow and wind all for the love of college football.
#8: I’m getting ready to cut my hair for Locks of Love. I’ve been growing it for about a year and not coloring it so it’s fresh and healthy. It should be ready to go around the first of the year.
#9: Terry turned 50 on October 17.

#10: Done for now!
